Library Venlo has a lot of books

Under the name Public Library Venlo, the libraries in the municipality of Venlo have created one big library organisation. All the subscriptions, prices and borrowing conditions are the same for every library in Venlo. With one library card you can borrow and bring items back at every location. The Public Library Venlo consists of five locations, one service point and one library bus.

Our daily aim is to offer our customers quality and professional service. You must be a member to borrow from our extensive and up to date collection. We offer a range of subscriptions all in which give members a lot of benefits at a reasonable price. For frequent readers we offer the TOP subscription, however for less frequent readers we recommend the Basis subscription. All use of media in the library is free. New materials are added to our collection daily. This ensures a constant supply for our members. Besides the borrowing of books, cd's, dvd's, blu-rays, audio books and e-books you can also read, in a quiet environment a section of newspapers and magazines. Of course there is a possibility to use the internet. This is possible at one of the fixed computers ( € 1,00 per 30 minutes) or you can use wifi (wireless internet). For this you need a code which you can get at the info desk.

You can find an I-point at our Venlo location. This provides tourists information about the region of Noord-Limburg. Our I-point consists of a picture wall with a touch screen and a folder rack. From the touch screen you can get useful information about the region. It is also possible to print information for example cycling routes. It is possible to download, "Liefde voor Limburg App", for free through www.liefdevoorlimburg.nl/mobiel.

Borrowing items

You can choose from our adult department such as novels, books in foreign languages, big letter books, audio books and e-books. In our central location we also offer a collection of cd's, blu-rays and movies. If you play an instrument, look at our collection of sheet music for classical and popular music. The public library also has language courses in different languages for beginners and advanced learners. Ask at the info desk.

You can use the computer to find out where the title is and whether it is available. Through "My menu" on this website you can reserve and renew books and materials easily at home. It is also possible to reserve requirements from other locations.

The young…..

The youth department is for children up to 14 years old. You can choose from illustrated books, audio books and comic books, informative books and children's books, also available in foreign languages. You can also borrow kids movies on dvd. We also have a wide range of magazines that are available for you to read. These may not be borrowed.

Cross-over Zone

There is a special corner for youth called, "Cross-over Zone". This area in the library is to supply to young people's taste. Expands the variety and the special design features in this zone. The Cross-over Zone is to be found at the locations of Venlo, Blerick, Tegelen and Velden.

Study area

In the study area you can read different newspapers and magazines. You will find foreign, national and regional newspapers and a wide range of magazines from fashion to management. It is possible to copy and print in the study area. A print in black/ white costs € 0,10 and per colour page € 0,50. The study area has seating where you can study quietly. Non-members can also use these facilities. The programs word and excel are free to use on the computers provided. The costs for internet amount to € 1,00 per 30 minutes.
