Germany and the Netherlands are each other's neighbours with a total land border of over 570 kilometres. The province of Limburg shares 212 kilometres of this border. To a large extent, our two countries share a common history, culture and language development. On both sides, we find good political, economic, social, cultural, administrative and personal relations important. Germans and Dutch residents in our border region work, live, shop and receive education on both sides of the border. In order to stimulate mutual curiosity, foster mutual understanding, gain knowledge and experience with and about each other, promote cross-border contacts and strengthen networks, the Venlo Library has started the Germany-Netherlands House. By means of lectures, activities and meetings and by cooperating with organisations on both sides of the border, we also hope to make you more familiar with our border region.
